Rambuttans Stud Earrings in 18K Yellow Gold

This beautiful pair of 18k yellow gold stud earrings are the designer Andrew Glassford’s interpretation of the Rambutan fruit. The intricate design is both bold and delicate; a substantial 18 grams of rich, deep 18k Yellow Gold. Little gold curlicues reflect the rambutans fleshy pliable spines. These earrings look even more beautiful on and have elicited big compliments from both wearers and admirers. And…. you will never see anything quite like them. Earrings are for pierced ears with omega clips, but can easily be modified for clip-on/un-pierced ears.

Andrew was inspired to make a pair of earrings shaped like a Rambutan, while on a trip to China, he saw this exquisite fruit at a fruit stand in one of Beijing’s vast outdoor markets. When he returned to Texas, his design interpretation was hand-carved in wax – everyone held their breath to make sure the little gold spines held when the mold was made.

This piece is part of the Flora Collection. Flora is the Roman goddess of flowers, nature and spring, often depicted as a beautiful, graceful woman in a long flowing dress with a crown of flowers in her hair, spreading wildflowers over the earth. She also symbolizes love, beauty and abundance.
